about

in high school, shortly after my mom's sudden death, i found and listened to "Electro-Shock Blues" by the Eels, written in response to frontman Mark Oliver Everett's sister's death and mother's terminal cancer. since that time, this album has left an indelible mark on my musical memory, and much of the of the musical content of the title track has seeped into my own work.
